Our Special Friends Memorial Page

It is with great sadness that I need to let you all know that Lilly had to be put to sleep last night. We only had her a little over a year, but she brought us so much joy. She was a tough little girl and although we feel like our heart has been ripped out, it was the best decision for her. She fought and fought and finally it was just too much. We will forever keep our special little girl in our hearts.
Thank you Cecil County SPCA for allowing us the joy of having her share our home.

Jeanne…if you are still at the shelter…I wanted you to know that we had to put our dear boy Nigel to sleep this morning. He was about 12 or 13.
We can’t thank you enough for putting this silly dog into our lives. The past 11 ½ years we have had him have been a true joy…and he will be greatly missed.
This picture was taken August 2nd in Vermont. We took him with us on our trip to celebrate our 36th anniversary.
He had been taken ill around his “birthday” (April 5th…the day in 1999 we picked him up from you) with tumors on his spleen and large intestine, but thanks to our great vets, they managed to give us five more precious months with him.
He was doing reasonably well until this morning…but today was his last with us. So sad.
Again…many, many thanks…he was the best.

Sincerely
Ted & Bette Sneed
GOODBYE
BANJO, AKA SMILEY
1-27-2004

With heavy hearts; and a tear in our eyes after all these years; we must say good-bye Please understand; we've done all we could if there was anything we could do; you know we would
I'm sitting right here; gently rub your ears while I talk to you softly; trying to hold back the tears The memories you gave us; we'll never forget especially the ones; of the day we all met
One last hug; and one last kiss you have no idea; how much you'll be missed To look into your eyes; this one last time you tell me it's ok; you know it's your time
Close your eyes now; and go to sleep we'll pray to the Lord; you're soul he'll keep Go in peace now; our good friend we'll stay right here with you; until the end
Dream of that special day and time when we'll meet at the Bridge; and all will be fine We'll run and play; side by side with a soft warm feeling; deep down inside
Your memory will live on; in each one of us you'll always be number 1; to all of us Have a safe journey; through the night I promise when you awake; you'll be in God's light So with heavy hearts; and tears in our eyes just for now my friend; we say goodbye

The following are excepts from a memorial letter in memory of their adopted dog that has passed on.
My name is David T. On Dec.th 993 my mom and dad adopted a 9 month old Shep. type pup they named Maggie. For the past 11 1/2 tears this dog brought to our family a joy and happiness that no words could accurately convey. She was absolutely loved as a cherished member of our family, and in return she gave us unconditional love and devotion. On may 18th 2005 she passed on after a brief battle with Canine Lymphoma. She passed over the rainbow bridge.
I am writing for two reasons: first to remind you of the legacy that your animals create in the hearts of those who love them. This dog who came from your shelter in 1993 was just as loved on the day she died as she was the day she was brought home.Without your organization ,Maggie would never have come to us and many, many lives would have been less for that.
The second reason I am writing is that offer to you this donation to be made in Honor and Memory of Maggie T. I only wish it could be much, much more. But even if it were for a Trillion Dollars it would not even begin to repay you for all the memories of love and laughter she provided us. Love is priceless.
Thanks for all that you do......and for the sweet memories
